Unscathed By Hurricane Katrina

While the devastation wrought by Hurricane
Katrina on the people of the Gulf Coast of
the southern United States is now well known
around the world, the commercial impact on
the business community is only now being felt.
Several major petrochemical facilities in
this region operated by Dow, Shell and Chevron
have been closed due to infrastructure damage,

Surge 185% To Baht 296 Million
[August, 2005]
The continued strong growth in production
volumes together with improved margins due
to higher prices combined to deliver a 185%
jump in net profits for the first six months
of 2005. Total net profits for the period
reached Baht 296 million compared to Baht
104 million for the same period in 2004 even
after unrealized exchange losses and exceptional
items of Baht 95 million which leads to a
Normalized net profit of 391 million ( growth
276% ) for the 1st half 2005. Total consolidated
net revenues for the same period were up 193%
to Baht 5,712 million compared to Baht 1,949

says US ITC ruling on anti-dumping re-opens
the window for PET exports to the US

Indorama Polymers Public Company Limited (IRP)
has expressed its pleasure in response to
last week's ruling that no anti-dumping duty
will be levied in the US on PET Polymers.
The International Trade Commission found that
US industry was not materially injured or
threatened by the import of PET-resin products
from three countries, including Thailand,
and thus no anti-dumping duty or countervailing

Construction work
progressing well in Lithuania[March,
2005]
Construction is progressing well at Orion
Global Pet in Lithuania. Land development
and piling work has been completed. Above
ground construction work has commenced. All
major contracts for equipment and construction
have been signed. “We expect to start the
commercial production by Q1 2006” commented
